Nico Mawun, President/CEO

Mr. Mawun has several years experience in the healthcare, transportation and information technology industries. He has been principally involved in organizational management and strategic planning. He brings dynamic leadership to the company, which is essential for focus on company goals and vision for company development. With his sense of integrity, adaptability, reporting, teamwork and understanding of all necessary processes, he possesses all that it takes to provide the required leadership to position the company at the forefront of the industry and to develop strategic planning to advance the company’s mission and objectives so as to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization. He oversees company operations to ensure efficiency, quality of service and cost-effective management of resources.

Florence Mawun, SVP/Government/Social/Community Affairs Officer

Mrs. Florence Mawun has over fifteen years of experience in the healthcare industry working specifically with government entities and local communities. She brings a variety of skills that help navigate some of the inevitable difficulties that arise from a day to day basis when dealing with various local governments and communities in our market.

Waziri Ibrahim, SVP/CFO

Mr. Ibrahim is a Certified Public Account with over twenty years of financial management experience. He has performed executive duties with supervisory responsibilities for most of his working career. His skills and abilities in strategic planning, development and implementation of policies for service productivity, effectiveness and profitability are impressive. He directs and coordinates the activities of the company in accordance with identified goals for optimum efficiency, economy of operations and the maximization of profits. He ensures that operating budgets are cost-effective and accurate. He reviews activity reports, performance metrics and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives. Moreover, he acts as an advisor within the management team when it is necessary to revise objectives and plans in accordance with current market conditions. In addition, he promotes and encourages such policies that will improve the company’s image and relations with customers, employees and the public. Overall, he assumes supervisory responsibilities for direction, coordination and evaluation to ensure that policies yield productive and profitable results.


Dr. Mark Sorrentino, Medical Director/Consultant, MD, MS

Dr. Mark Sorrentino is the lead physician and Medical Director of Freestate. As a pediatric critical care physician, he has gained extensive experience interacting with families during stressful times. He worked as a Registered Nurse prior to attending medical school. Dr. Sorrentino gained insight concerning the complexities of our healthcare systems while working as the Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer of a large community hospital in. Thus, he has a thorough understanding of the workings of the healthcare environment and beyond. In addition, he is the Medical Director for both the Susan G. Kommen Breast Cancer Three Day Event and the Global Race for the Cure, which demonstrates his extensive experience with medical control planning at large community events. He holds an academic appointment in the George Washington University School of Medicine and has published his research in the areas of patient outcomes, the burden of illness in families and transplant medicines. He also supervises the development of Freestate employees, directs, coordinates and evaluates operations protocols and heads our Medical Review Committee.

 

Kim Huggins, Office Manager

Ms. Huggins is highly reputed in the delivery of EMS and ambulance services. She has worked for over 20 years; serving in several healthcare facilities in various capacities as an EMT-P, CRT, ACLS, fire fighter, and CPR Instructor. In addition, she has been involved in many occupations in healthcare management. She organizes office procedures and assists in the coordination of operations protocols.

Dilys Fossung, RN, Advisor to Medical Director/Consultant

Mrs. Fossung has over fifteen years of experience in the healthcare industry. She brings several skill sets gained by working in different supervisory positions in various healthcare settings including hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Over the years she has been involved in developing medical staff as well as directing, coordinating and evaluating operational protocol in these facilities.

Beatrice Akum, RN, Advisor to Medical Director/Consultant

Mrs. Akum is the lead nurse of Freestate. She has served in the healthcare sector for over 10 years in various capacities. In addition to her advisory role in the coordination and evaluation of operations protocols, she also contributes in the recruitment and development of medical staff. Her job also involves performing frequent patient evaluations and the monitoring and tracking of vital signs and performing procedures such as IV placement, phlebotomy and administering medications.

Elijah Umoh, CPA, Accounting/Payroll

Mr. Umoh has worked in major accounting firms for 13 years. He is responsible for all stages of financial and operational audits, as well as settling all federal, state, and local tax issues.

Cathy Bishop, Business Development and Communications

Ms. Bishop has been involved in the field of business management and the healthcare sector for several years. She is responsible for the planning and implementation of sales and marketing strategies as well as customer retention and business development. She also assists in the formulation of policies and strategies and ensures the planning and management of internal communications and awareness of corporate direction, missions, aims and activities.

Joseph M. Kum, Esq.

Mr. Kum is an established legal professional and officially represents Freestate in all legal matters. He practices primarily in commercial litigation and is highly reputed in corporate planning and administration.
